WizKid! Don’t use that kind of language!
I have had it with this likescolding. “Tumblr doesn’t have an algorithm so likes don’t actually do anything” motherfucker I am not clicking that heart to give some post better ~algorithmic visibility~ I am clicking that heart to help my internet friend microdose on serotonin as god fucking intended
here’s why vine was and will always be superior to tiktok you can’t really spread a lot of misinfo in 6 seconds you had to go viral on the strength of your humor and not on the allure of insane conspiracy theories or MRA talking points it’s why vines legacy will be shit like “back at it at krispy kreme” and not the downfall of democracy
To be clear I am not denying that vines was superior.
But if you think tiktok is the downfall of democracy you're either not paying attention or on the WRONG side of tiktok. There are tons of people over there dedicated to making sure the masses have access to accurate information, exposing corruption, and organizing against fascism. Tiktok is not the problem. For every bad actor there's a good one and as we like to say here at the tumblr dot com: curate your experience.
Reading comprehension quiz (unit 2):
- Please summarize the argument of original post in your own words. Is the main point of the post about democracy, or something else? What other issues might the the author be trying to address?
- Define hyperbole. Why might the author deploy this rhetorical device here? What features of Tumblr may have encouraged this style of post?
- How can algorithms disincentivize or prevent users from fully controlling their experience on social media platforms such as TikTok? How might the architecture of these platforms —including longer-form video options — facilitate radicalization or fringe beliefs? (See Becker, A. (2021, August 24). Ortus: I believe that we are trapped in a labyrinth of, consciously or unconsciously, Lady Harrowhark's making. Although she is a mere seventeen years of age, she has endured enough pain and accrued enough power to fell a Lyctor. Do not underestimate the machinations of her dark, twisted mind.
The machinations of Harrow's dark, twisted mind: What if I was Gideon's cavalier 🤔🤔🤔🗡🗡🗡What if she was a charming princess and I was an impoverished little nun 🤴🤴🤴💓💓💓 What if she worked at a coffee shop ☕☕☕🤗🤗🤗
"It is quite something for a series that’s core message is to embrace social outcasts with humanity and dignity to use a marginalised and stigmatised community’s aesthetics as promotional material. And, for that same series to use the real trauma of queer conversion therapy as an allegory within the show, without then including any significant queer representation within.
Queerbaiting is an accusation that has been both diluted and weaponised over the past few years. The solution to this does not lie in harassing young actors to come out, but in holding major companies accountable for their parasitical allyship and appropriation of queerness, supporting openly LGBTIQ+ shows, and demanding queer voices behind the scenes, as well as in front of the camera."

I see your "Beatrice taught Ava to swim" and raise you "Ava took beginner classes with four year olds"
I see your “Ava took beginner classes with four year olds"
And raise to you “Beatrice signed Ava up for the beginner classes with four year olds and was the one who took her and was the most concerned person there and the moms asked which one was hers thinking it was a child and she just point to Ava who is flailing like a flounder in a 3ft deep area”
